Why would a domainer do this?

Just wondering..... seems like when they launched it they were aiming to catch up to yahoo with their "Yahoo small business" dealy... but I haven't heard much hype about googles feature...

In the onslaught of gPhone , or gMobile, gDomains has been very low on my GOOG radar.

AFAIK G is not seriously playing in the domainer market - perhaps they'll do a hostile takeover of NAME / Namemedia if the IPO goes through hehehe....

Why would someone use this when they can register domains MUCH cheaper!?!?!?

Well, I noticed some people use it to integrate the google free services like pics and calendars for their family and combine it with gmail and stuff........

And rather then mess with dns and all other required settings ( if they are lazy ), they get google to do it for them...

I think it also might be used by people new to the whole net scene, as google is seen as somewhat of an authority

what is the URL where they sell domain names?

i dont think they sell domains directly..... they allow you to purchase domains via their partners godaddy and enom..... but they handle all the details and act as if they are selling them ( its somewhere in the webmaster tools control panel )....
