Online search-engine leader Google Inc. is preparing to introduce an electronic payment system later this year in a move that would pose a financial threat to one of its biggest advertisers, Internet auctioneer eBay Inc.

Cool! Somethings besides Paypal would make Paypal clean up their acts!

It's about time! They need some healthy competition. I personally can't stand them. Their motto 'freeze first ask questions later". I've seen it so many time it's pathetic.

Hopefully, Google will put a hurt on them

Peace,
Lee

Very interesting indeed! As someone already mentioned - competition is always a good thing.

Google always seems to "find" things and make them better..

Example: EMAIL...

Go Goog!

When you have the resources to do that it is easy. I can't wait. Maybe with competition the rates will go down. I know I will surely signup with their service when it is live.

Not surprising...I called it a few months back...

Good to see though, Paypal will either need to make some serious changes or they will be destroyed. Google will also create an auctioning service soon to attempt to eliminate Ebay.

People complain about Microsoft because they have many crappy programs...not because they have a monopoly. As long as Google continues to make quality additions, I have no problem with it owning the whole net.
