What is the cost of a Lasik procedure? Multiply that by a factor of 5 and that'd be your price. Come on! Eye doctors make 7 figures annually.

Edit: here, I saved you some time:
http://www.allaboutvision.com/visionsurgery/cost.htm
2K to 4K depend on market and surgeon.
I paid 2.5K for mine.

So, at absolute minimal of 1K (never seen or heard this low)...
It will be 5K :)

This is why I said...
at least 3.5K
I may even counter it with 7K if it's me.

I'll say it again, I will never sell for 500.
I think you can make much more than this if you make simple
page with adsense or YPN when your buyer turn down your higher offer.

I agree with domainah, gtweb and irish31...

Dont be too greedy its a long name that is very specific, getting a $500 offer is pretty good in my opinion. The question becomes, if you dont sell it (even for the $500) how long will it take to get another offer and can you afford to -- or is it worth keeping for the long run? There are better type-in combinations if you are looking for this type of surgeon in NYC....Just my 6.5 cents worth..

Good luck!

I'd go for 1k, but dont go crazy with 7k or anything, that will just kill the deal.

Lasik is a very profitable business, and the surgeons to have money, but they dont like to throw it away unnecessarily like anyone else.

In my opinion, $500 is more than a fair price. I would imagine it would take years to make that amount in PPC. Everyone always talks about "reseller" and "end user" prices, and this offer is in the end user range. If the guy moves on, you are left with a $6.95 domain name (no offense, but if you had put it up for appraisal with no mention of the offer, either you would have received lots of "reg fee," and "$0" responses or no response at all.)

Whenever I make a fair offer for a name and the owner counters with a ridiculous price, I move on to another name. No sense in negotiating with someone who doesn't know the real value of his/her name or someone that automatically inflates the value to try to get more money from me.

Good luck with your negotiation.

I disagree, counter with $1,250 and say something like:

"Thank you for the offer, this domain is getting alot of interest lately and I had planned on selling this domain for at least $2,500 minimum given the type-in and search relevance of this keyword domain which is at the top of it's field in a very profitable industry. Thus, if you would like to move forward, I will sell you the domain and accept a full 50% discount off my price which brings it down to just $1,250 BIN and only slightly more than your opening offer. Let me know if you would like to proceed and that this is within your budget. Conversely, I would consider leasing the domain to you if you only needed it temporarily at a rate of $100 per month, otherwise you can just buy this online property outright and own it forever as your business grows on the Internet. Payment may be made to my paypal business account at "[email protected]" or I can start an escrow transaction for you using escrow.com
Which would you prefer?"

Regards,

your name

ps- For a comparison of similiar premium domain name values in todays very competitive market please see: http://www.dnjournal.com/ytd-sales-charts.htm
In contrast I think we can all agree this price being offered is very nominal.

Thats an EXCELLENT counter offer email! I'm gonna bookmark this one!
