Big corps don't work like that. They would pay thousands on legal fees to protect their TM and get the domains they think they are entitled to. They do not bargain and pay the allegedly infringing party.

Adobe is known to aggressively defend their trademarks. I guess the buyer had 850 BP to waste; the seller was obviously smarter.

As I said..if there was a legitmate use for it..there was probably not
an issue...but in most cases of domains like this they are purchased
to capitalize off the TM product/domain. If this was the buyer I think
they got a great deal and it should serve them well. They have a valid
defense of their usage...that is not to say that if Adobe is feeling
fiesty they won't try to go after it...they just stand a much lesser chance
of winning.

Hopefully they make their profit before the name is taken away.
There are some bets many here do not feel is worth their time.
Mr.Deleted, NAPA is great. They put out a Photoshop Magazine and partner with Adobe on promoting the product. They're NOT going to be located at a domain name like this one, if that's what you're suggesting. Adobe would secure this name for the company, not to disfuse its branding by letting a partner be confused with the official company. Doesn't make a lick of sense.

With a PPC page up, the owner is not looking to win any points on skirting the TM issue.
