Just got this off buydomains/afternic for $5k. Seemed remarkably cheap to me, but I was the only bidder which is a worry.

Did i overpay?

yes i think you did sorry to say

there are far better domains for less on this very forum if you dig imho

not all is lost though as there really is no reason why a top gun club wouldnt pay double what you paid. im only talking reseller before

thing is a lot of these gun clubs appear to be quite small full of inbreds etc lol so they are happy with their haltonvillagegunclub.co.uk etc

find a posh gunclub to sell to,or develop into a paid directory , a nice one,
good luck

Nice buy IMO.

1,490,000 for "gun club" in google

estibot gives USD 23,000

Ask the NRA for $100K
Results 1 - 10 of about 82,400 for "gun club" NRA

Nice domain but I don't think I would have paid that much. For $500 I would bite.
Looks like an expensive buy from a reseller point of view. Still a nice domain though :)

Nice domain but i dont think $5k is a good buy for a reseller , However i do think it has a chance for selling for much higher in the right domain auction , Also im sure the right end user will pay allot for it it is perfect for a gun club . It might be a waiting game for you , what you call a good deal is were you know most domainer would pay higher than what you just did, but good luck with it.

Nice name, but you've paid all the money for it.

In cases like this, you can get too generic - most end users of this type of business would use the name of their gun club.
If you were searching for a gun club to shoot at, chances are you'd search for it geographically - lancashire gun clubs / london gun clubs etc

What this name is perfect for though, is a directory of gun clubs.

Having said all that - these guys might be interested - they are targeting international shooters, and looks like the best shooting ground I've ever seen; cost millions....$20k would be nothing....check out the photos.

The real question is....does it get traffic? If no..then you know the answer.

Dude! Have you tried buying 9mm lately. No stock at all. You can make a fortune on this baby (that is in ads!). Do some digging, you'll soooon realize that ammo is getting scarce by the minute. No political permutations....wtf!

I do not think you over paid. I had no idea this was up on the auction. Gun clubs/ranges are growing by leaps and bounds in my area.

There may not be much interest oversees thus no traffic.

The issue here is the tremendous amount of subdomains.

Indoor.GunClub.com

skeet.
paintball.
blackpowder.

Not to mention every damn geo that you can think of.

There are even roads around here named gun club road. Many state and local maps now put a little icon on maps.

Plus, every imaginable gun show, swap, sale etc is usually sponsored by a local or regional gun club.

In my opinion I think you got an absolute bargain and how you go about making and monitizing this site is crucial. There is absolutely no reason to quite possibly make your investment back within the first year.

The push to outlaw certain guns, parts, ammo multiround clips will perhaps fuel the need for more local gun clubs to be formed. Soon only those that publicize heavily as a club will be able to market and get the needed items...club orders for ammo by the tens of thousands, large capacity clips by the hundreds or thousands. Club pricing is big, big, big, right now.

Honestly, this is a gem and one humdinger of a specialized generic term that has countless and endless possibilities to make you a fat pay day.

I am actually excited for you as I think this is just an incredible opportunity for you.

Is it a Belgian brand?

That is about the only ones I know that cost that much.

There are a few distinctive Beretta and a few others.

But Belgian makes can get crazy hight.

The only Belgian name worth much is Browning.

Beretta and Perazzi are the two leaders (I just bought back a Beretta ASE90 Gold for £3k that I sold 9 years ago for the same amount) located just outside Brescia. Not uncommon to spend £10k or more on a gun.

I've had a few Perazzi trap guns - got them fitted at the factory. It's about half an hour from Lake Garda - makes a nice trip!

I went to the Beretta factory eons ago and purchased a 9mm pistol that customs would not permit into the US. Fortunately I was able to sell it to another GI for about twice what I paid for it.

Beretta is awesome. I have a semi-auto 12 gauge still in the box that I purchased about 2 years ago. I also like Benelli. I think I might have about 4 or 5 Benelli shotguns, 2 of them are their Coach models (side by side). So easy to use, great size for personal protection to keep in the house.

m2-shotgun.jpg

This is my personal fav, the Benelli M2 Tactical. So much fun to take to the range. Paid $300 for it. Co-worker hard up for money. It had only been fired perhaps a dozen rounds when I bought it. The guy is left handed and he did not know there was a left side ejection model.

The only drawback is with the pistol grip, optional rail, sites, and tactical light it takes up too much space and had to buy a larger case to keep it in. Always a big hit when I go to the range. Every one come over to look at it and use it.

I wish it was not so, but home invasions up in my area.
Unemployment up and crime is up. Gee, I wonder if anyone else sees the correlation?

No gun cabinet. All concealed. Only my wife and I know where they are.

I do have one locking rack in one room.

With 8 dogs, anyone would be nuts to try to come in here. But, desperate times for some.

We live a good bit back from the main road on 6.5 acres. Great neighbors. Break-ins are up in the area, mostly thieves raid out buildings, garages, etc. Anything that they can steal and then sell at the local flea markets/swap shops.

Can't and won't agree, biatch.

I will say this, if buying solely for a reselling flip then may have to sit on it awhile.

And I would take a mini site over parking any day on this.
