Have you ever sold a domain at a great price, and still regretted it?

Yep - Coffee.net. Bought it for practically nothing, sold it for a bunch. If I had held another year, I would have been able to get 5x what I did. That was one of my favorite domains. Over half of the world's population drinks coffee. UGH!

I let go a domain for $238 (after commissions) just because I went broke. Biggest regret... New owner wants $10k.

My case is a bit different. It wasn’t even a high-price sale, but I still regret it a lot.

QQQ.cc

Years ago, I was building a website for a local gambling arcade. The owner came through a friend, so I told him he could pick a domain from my portfolio.

The moment he saw QQQ.cc, he immediately wanted it, like hitting a full house. I gave it to him, even though it hurt a little, because my cost was basically just the registration fee.

Two years later, he contacted me and said the website was no longer reachable. I checked, and the domain had actually dropped.

Turns out it was registered under his son’s name, and his son didn’t care at all, just chasing girls all day.

Some domains are painful not because of the money, but because of how they were lost.
