how did you do it ? did you just place a order to register the TBR or re-reg after ?

Had to do it through TBR, luckily no one else bid! Or does that mean the domain wasn't worth keeping, lol.

Once a .ca domain is headed to TBR, there is no way to pull it out. Most registrar's give you 30 days after it expires to renew it, Sibername gives 40 days.

Do early renewal on domains you don't want to lose.

There is indeed no way for a registrar to pull a domain out of TBR - once that happens it's essentially a free-for-all for all registrars, and none can guarantee that they'll be able to get it back for you.
