Being a nosey so and so i was looking at some who-is info on some big domain names and one of them expires in about a months time...

I thought why not try my luck and try to grab it... i doubt they will forget to renew it but what the heck its worth a try.

so... people... comrades... dearest chums (ok enough sucking up )

anyone willing to lend me a hand with some info on the best way to grab a name...

also are there anythings i need to consider when trying to do this?

try the following sites.

www.freewho.com/expired/ will give you some expired domain names.
www.snapnames.com will reserve the domains once it become available, though you have limited of selection of registrars and will cost you $69 to back order.

I heard that Hotmail.com come almost expired, but I got bad hearing

If it's a very active website, they will "remember" to renew it when the domain enteres the grace period - especialy when the DNS and MX info is removed.

But - some active websites do expire, busy webmasters on vacation or honymoon ect.
