"All the good names are taken" but I think there are fantastic opportunities with the new generic domains. Stacks and stacks of good names waiting to be registered there.
I'm particularly looking forward to the launch of .london as people living in London (me) get priority! Sold LondonToLet.com for £5,000 in 2000...so some value in London names.
Aside from speculating on domain names I would strongly suggest you make a site about something that interests you and that you're passionate about. If the site gets busy you can make money from it...plus you'll have a lot of fun! (Please don't make a bloody directory or a blog!)
