Thats a funny statement, that I don,t agree with, "Buy dot com, sell dot com" because I was late getting into the coms and soon realized it, I went for my .ca market, where I was able to do much better.

Don't confuse yourself Mr.2004 - its 2012... your tactics are good for 2004+ not for 2012 Domainers.

I rarely buy new registrations. From my perspective, you lose £3-5 per self registration for every one you let drop (obviously).

I tend to buy up smaller dropping domains on a larger basis, let them pay for themselves (if they have viable metrics) with genuine unique content, until there is a potential sale. This way, you never lose, because if you cant earn £3 within a year via advertising on a viable dropped domain, your doing something wrong. Let them pay for themselves and be self sufficient until you can;

1 - Build the domain and increase its value
2 - Luckily drop on a brand in which hasnt been created yet (icloud)
3 - Sell it for 1000's % Profit

One sale out of 10-50 purchases can put you back in the black!

I agree with Tedgeman. Having great success in the .ca space, not so much in the .com. I also know Tedgeman has an awesome collection of .ca's.

I think when domainers say stick to .com they're referring to gTLD's for the most part since ccTLD is pretty much .com for local markets.

In business theirs all types of losses and gains, what matters is the bottom line, your net profit at the end of each quarter or fiscal year.
