Anyone else care to share their optimism or the other?

I bought 4 .mobi domains from godaddy and are gd one and I hope they will be gd for me in the near future. As I have buyed all of them to sell it in the future.

I have spent around $4k, including getting a couple of trademarks.
I have already sold two recouping nearly all my investment on the other 40 or so!

For 7 years I have been involved with, watching, and researching the mobile internet, and in my view nothing is more certain than that .mobi will be huge.

Go for gold everyone, as oportunities like this only come along once!

over 5000 but its only a small % of our portfolio.

I bought 7 names at godaddy...so $420

Update:Just bought one more keyless.mobi ...so $480 - I'm done for now with mobi.

Spent ~6k. Unlike other tlds, I'm high on .mobi because they are organized, well-supported, and it exists for one a specific reason. All .mobi sites must meet specific standards to display appropriately on mobile devices.

Yes, there are plenty of mobile-compliant .com sites where the server checks to see if it's a mobile device accessing the site and delivers content appropriately, but only the larger companies do that, and it's a mess to browse the 99% of the web on your mobile. With all the handset makers and software companies (including G AND ms) behind this, .mobi will be a winner.

My count is now £3000 GPB so around $5600 ish too bad i've reached my limit cos there's still plenty of nice generic terms available!

$0

Don't believe in .mobi

I already surf with my regular mobile phone on normal internet pages without greater problems

this is commonly said, it not being a problem doesnt mean the sponsors dont have a marketing scheme for it. all anyone is concerned with is the end result: mobi being used at least some, therefore the domains will be worth money.

those who ignore that there is at least a *chance* in this happening, and the sponsors doing well with their marketing scheme (at least for a short time) are lying to themselves..

I agree mjnels! Well said!

What the hell is .mobi ?

currently I have more than 100 .mobi domains. also planning to register another 100.
