How soon do SnapNames need payment?

I snapped a couple of domains today and want to know how long I have to sort out payment before they get handed to the next highest bidder.

Do you know if we're talking 24hrs, a couple of days or a week?

I believe its 24 hours after the auction ends

it's within 5h of auction close, then they send you a nice reminder and by next day afternoon you got to pay or goes to next bidder

next bidder? or the next bid as if the nonpaying bidder hadn't bid?

my experience so far has been "next bidder - same high bid"

I've seen "payment pending" for as long as 3 months. I emailed them and asked, and they said we can request longer payment. I asked for a year - they did not reply.

Gee, why can't I just hold off paying them till I sell the name to someone else -- which is exactly what THEY are doing with their 5 day auctions during the grace period.
