How to and How long to sell a domain

I am a new domainer and have recentley recieved and accepted an offer for 2 domains(.com & .co.uk).

How long should i expect the domain sale to last?

What are the key points in the sale that i should be careful of?

Are these private sales or Sedo/other? You should receive payment within a couple days or the buyer is not serious, be careful how and who you receive the payment from.

The sales are private. Has anyone had experiance transfering using the nominet transfer forms.
