How to guage and bring in traffic?

Hiya.

I'm fairly new to the domain scene and am considering developping small domains and possibly reselling others and had a few questions..

What are the best tools to guage possible type-ins and existing links to the domain (so i can guess the amount of initial traffic)?

What are the best tools sites to bring in traffic without spending a fortune?

I'm sure you can get a great deal of information if you take the time and do a search of this forum on those topics. The search button is in the toolbar near the top of the page.

I usually start with submitting my sites to dmoz.org . Many smaller search engine sites use its database.
