I was wondering if anybody here using WHM (reseller hosting account) and park there names on top of other names. If you do, do you track parked names traffic?

I'm doing this for plural names ex: parked example.com on of top examples.com

Is there a way to see how much traffic the parked name is getting vs. singular?

I know I can set up a "jump/redirect page" in between sites and not use "park on top", but that defeats the point of my question.

So any body doing it?
Care to share?

Thanks :)

First, you set the domains as "add-on domains".
There is a section in the CPanel of the main domain, called Subdomain stats.
So if jackson.com is your main domain and bob.com is a subdomain, the stats would show under bob.jackson.com

I'm not using subdomains. Just 2 clicks to park on top inside the WHM, not cpanel.

Are you saying you have to use subdomains to track?
Have to set this up in cpanel?

I am familiar with WHM as a total server tool. If you create your main domain and tag it as a "reseller" you will be able to have add-on domains to the main domain. Then, just go to the CPanel of that main domain and create a subdomain; then allocate it as an add-on domain. From then on, it will have its own stats under the Subdomain Stats section.

I understand what your saying, but going through all is what I'm trying to advoid.
I was "hoping" (big hope I know) that there was a much simpler and less time consuming way.

You think they would add that to WHM...stats for parked names, without having to create a subdomain and then telling it to use the add-on name as main name.

Thanks for your help Theo.

I'm now thinking of building one page for all my name redirects to pass through.
