There is a generic word with over 2,000,000 Google results and a very high
overture, thats still available as a .Name.
Would it be a total waste of money or worth a go???

unless its sex, flowers or casino I probably wouldn't bother :)

I have let some .net's go with higher than 2,000,000 search results.

Not alot of value in .name unless it is highly generic or, of course, a (common) name.

Thanks for all your advice, much appreciated.
I decided to "give it a go"
<post names for appraisal in correct forum ...no adult names!>

I pondered over one myself in the not to distant past... decided to give it a whirl... reseller market, I figured.

July.name

That's a pretty sweet domain, fits all the criteria of a nice solid generic... but alas, no interested buyers.

So I would have to say, yeah... the ext hurts.

I agree with the above posts but can add that I do like the wordplay type domains like Domain.name , my.name , bad.name and perhaps your.name kinda stuff.

I had a few decent ones over the last two years and recently let them go as the traffic was non existent.

We check OVT before checking Google.
