I was searching for some info on a digital camera and thought I would like to know the average cost just to get an idea of what I should pay.

Anyway, I checked Google and there were 770,000 references to "Average Cost", I then checked Overture and there are many searches for "Average Cost" of different items.

Thought!

A site where you can check the "average cost" of absolutely anything to see if you are getting a good deal, link in to all the various products etc.

Anyway, I regged it.

What do you think of:

AverageCost.com ?

Good name and idea.

It'll be tough gathering that data; however, there are a few sites out there like "MySimon" that already do that.

Good name, and good idea aswell. I wouldn't have though it would be that hard. Dealtime, Kelkoo and Price Runner must have a database somewhere..............................

Thanks guys- feedback appreciated-

I did feel that it was one of my better new regs (that would not be difficult, I buy some stinkers!)

I like this name.......how about a site that gives travelers the average cost of gas from different areas of the country.

Good idea, after you compile the info, and have the scripts setup to scan various sites for prices, get a few visitors coming in, you could approach some companies and offer them a deal like pricewatch.com does. Also using ebay.com's affiliate program through comission junction could work very well for people searching for the best price, and make you $5 for each new account.
