Are .jobs, .mobi, .post, and .travel going to be in addition to .biz, .info, .org, .net, and .com.. official TLDs? Or will they just be extensions no one ever cares about like new.net extensions? I have to think that every major company and most established sites at this point have already developed and built extensive networks with their .com addresses. Anyone believe that there is long term threats to .com remaining the clear cut "king" of extensions?

If .net is not second then you should tell us what is. It is the second most registered domain extension followed by .co.uk

It may be 2nd most registered in numbers but aren't those numbers mainly historical? How does .net compare with other extensions in current registration trends?

The availability is what makes it better in my opinion. Do you ever see companies paying more for .us, .biz, and other domains than they have for .com or .net domains?

Feel free to give your opinion as to what extensions you think are more powerful than .net other than country extensions, except for the .us domain which isn't worth much in my opinion

Want it too ... sex.jobs is definitely a winner :)

.mobi ... everytime I see that, I think of the mob. I thoght it was going to be "mobile" ... longer, but at least makes some sense; nothing makes sense with these new TLDs.

Sure they'll both be about as successful as .NAME and .PRO ... never see those used much of anywhere - come to think of it, is .PRO even live?

.mobi/jobs cannot compare to com/net/org/biz/info/name... These are non-sponsored gTLDs while mobi/jobs are sponsored gTLDs. Meaning: mobi/jobs can compare with gTLDs like .pro/aero/museum/coop (or even edu/mil/gov) ONLY, since their registrations will be closed for general public. AFAIK.

.info is temporarily higher than .net because of all the free registration offers through MyDomain and other places where you can get 25 FREE .infos for a limited time.
