IDNJournal.com - Internationalized Domain Name Journal

Any ideas on this name?

Thanks in advance.
Polin

Nice name. Great potential for development.

Awesome name.
No one would know the gamble win or loss, but at least, you got the chips in your hand.

Good one. Was sitting there all the time and none of us thought of it but you. Well done. I am curious to see how this turns out. Great potential I think.

without duke's hard work this name would be another regfee, but piggybacking on his brand is indeed worth @ least a c&d letter or two :fencing:

so who regged idnforum.com?

Get real. There is nothing wrong with this name. Just like there would be nothing wrong with having IDNForum.com. What a joke. If I got a Cease and Desist letter with this name I would just laugh and rip it up.

that would not change the fact that most likely u would lose that name in the arbitration (if one was indeed pursued).

I don't see why either.

By your logic, anything with IDN instead of DN in its name plus the same generic term, when referring to Internationalized Domain Names and Domain Names respectively, is infringing.

I cannot see that happening, unless you know of strong precendent.

well it ain't quite so simple like that. we aren't talking of just any generic term. we are talking about confusingly similar name to an online brand which has been built by hard work, sweat and tears and has been mentioned in national media numerous times.

I think if you stepped outside yourself and actually took a look at idnforum you would find that DCG is actually a member there. Sorry to put a pin in your party hog.

don't play dumb. i was talking about dnjournal.

unlike the unregistered idntimes.com and idngazette.com for example, idnjournal is registered only and obviously because of the popularity and recognition of duke's brand. no amount of your twisted logic will change that.

however, that in itself will probably matter little to duke at the moment, but if the owner of this domain tries to follow in his footsteps with a similar (idn) 'idea' website, than i suspect his feelings might change too. i know mine would.

If someone wants to start a news site about domains what do they have a choice of?

Most appropriate would be IDNJournal, IDNGazette, IDNTimes etc
He is infringing on anything.
