Hey there alia!

So why can't you develop an ENGLISH website, point the nameservers to the site and host away?

Other than the "prestige" and familiarity of the .com, doesn't the public care more about the second level domain (left of the dot)?

For example wouldn't Reseller.cn be BETTER than say, Reselur.com???

Forgive my ignorance! That's why I'm here, LOL!

Yeah right, you meant to get a name like ebid.us NOW? And for your reference, the Chinese domain sites are trading both in RMB and USD now. :)

I hate to see people waste money like this... plenty of .com/net/org drops 100 times better.
 
Alia, what's the status of these domains now? Have you developed (or sold) some of them yet?

Would be interesting to see if .cn is gaining popularity now...

If I were you I won't wait to find out. I was avoiding .US for a long time and now I have to do defensive regs from owners for $500-$1000 per pop when I could easily have got it for reg fee earlier on.
 
Chinese prefer not to use english as domain name. They like "pinyin" or short form more, such as

xinwen.cn (news)
tiyu.cn (sports)
paimai.cn (auction)
zqnd.cn
pzqx.cn

While that may be true, there is also a very strong and fast growing need for the Chinese to learn English and connect to the outside world.

It really depends on how your .CN names complement your business model - whether it Inside-Out or Outside-In, or in your example Inside-Inside.
 
I have pointed most of the .cn's to my domain for sale page, there are about 1,500 visitors / 2-5 offers per month. ford.cn has a single page site with 636 hits for 3.5 months.

elite.cn got the highest offer($500) but I didn't take it. (what a shame!)
