I think .in has a bright future but it will take some time, at least a few years. If you don't want to hold on to these domains, I will be happy to buy them from you.

They should and will have future, considering there are approximately 45-50 million internet users in India and this is only a fraction of what it can be.
This number will grow enormously in coming years as you said and a market for this domains will be created. Another good reasoning is that people are finding websites through search engines mainly, and these search engines rank local results ahead of others businesses will look for generic local domains for their businesses and this is just a beginning :)

As to keeping these wise decision!

Disclaimer: This is just my view no damages will be paid if any :D

Ok, since you're not going to sell them to me, let me say that I think .in is the best investment out there right now (for those who don't have millions to spend on .com). You can still get premium domains for reg fee! And this is not some small island country whose extension is meaningless. This is the second most populated nation in the world, and is evolving towards becoming a technological giant in the future. The educated population all speaks English. There is still a long ways to go in internet development and bringing internet access to the majority of the population. Also, Indians are a patriotic people and I think when the .in domain really catches on there most companies will use it.

Conclusion: I believe a large portfolio of premium .in domain names will make you rich, one day. Just gotta be patient.

And if I'm wrong, at the very least you can sell them for a small multiple and make a decent profit.
