Now if DotComGod has got this name then there must be some catch here and there. So as a newbie I would appraise it on the owners reputaion as High $xxx to $xxxx.

Thanks.

Yeah see sometimes the reputaion of the dmoain seler can boost the prices up. The OVT of the name is 0. But i am waiting for the suspense to be opened.

Thanks.

There is no real mystery here, although I am surprised at the interest by me just posting a name for appraisal.

The reason I posted it is I was offered 5K today for it and wanted to see if there was something I was missing.

I think that almost all of the value in this domain is derived through its development potential. In my opinion, it probably makes very little simply as a parked domain.

Thus, any additional value would have to be added to the domain through an extensive development and marketing strategy. The words do make sense to me, so there is some value to unlock with development. But I have a bit of a difficult time seeing it on a Billboard or in a Magazine as it is right now.

I think $5k is a fair offer and is most likely from someone who has a business plan to back it up. Granted, $5k is nothing for someone with a business plan, but at the same time, how many others are you willing to wager have a specific business plan for this domain?

In conclusion, I would take the offer, as it's a fair one in my opinion.

The 'development potential' criteria applies to so many domains it's hardly worth mentioning. $5k is a lottery win for IMHO a very mediocre domain if it's just for the name.

Very popular keywords here and it doesnt suprise me that an "end user" would come after it. I dont imagine the person offering the funds is interested in parking this name, but developing it into a huge resource. 5K is nice, but to an end user like (http://www.instylehomedecor.com/ for example) .. could be worth more.

My 2 cents

it appears to be a magazine heres the link, whenever i get an offer i try to research the name because you never no. also instyle.com also seems to have a link for there home page. if link doesnt work i did google "in style home"
http://www.instyle.com/instyle/about/specialissues

i would think instyle.com wants it because they have different issues of there magazine with differnt names and it would be a link to their home page

I think this is the best example I have seen on this forum of how an appraisal is actually very valuable.

You have all dug up excellent information on this domain.

Thank you.

The whole point here is that end users do not necessarily look at the domain market in the way that we do. They do not often understand value, but they will have a perceived need that they wish to fill.

Branding, even bad branding has a momentum of its own. Once they have launched in a certain direction, even illadvisedly they are often obliged to follow the stratey through to its logical conclusion. Even if this means paying over the odds for a mediocre name!

Best Regards
