International Brand Names

Hi!

I read in other threads here how to check if a name is branded in the US and Canada. I gather that you can go to any country and check their branded names? What if you register a domain name that's not branded in the US or your own country, but that is branded somewhere else? There isn't a central, worldwide database somewhere that tells you if that's the case, is there?
