Internet addresses are about to expand way past .com and .org, to .whatever you can imagine. With this massive expansion comes a big business opportunity -- and one startup hopes to cash in.

No, they won't get much 'type in'. Some ccTLD-based '.anything' domains at the
2 character level do get a lot of type-in, but there is a very different dynamic at
play between that and a '.anything' name, like e.g. '.sport'.

I love this quote... "We created our own proprietary way of valuing the [gTLDs],
and that helped us narrow it down". It sounds a little like famous last words to
me, and although the article doesn't say, if the firm's biz strategy is attempting
to resell sub domains then I think they will be in for a big shock...

Customers won't treat such names seriously, and it will be very confusing for them
to even try.

RIP ICANN
