I don't see the interest from domainers and the price is high. .tel won't have the success of .mobi IMO

Just read rick latona's post on .tel, and some faq's on .tel. It looks like all the benefits/advantages of .tel can be done by building a webpage anyway. All sorts of contact information can be put on a webpage. And websites are pretty common and easy to set up these days, so I really don't see the 'advantages' that .tel claims to have.

always the same thing its going to be BIG!!! but mobi they won't be big... They need to focus on the e.com on.me :pound:

everytime they release another extension they say the same thing "this one is gonna be great" or "this is the one"

.whatever give me a break :frusty:

Tel seems like another scam. Normal to just put the telephone number on the homepage of the .com or link via 'Contact' to address and phone number.

If a new extension is required to navigate around a website, then the website needs a new designer.

I recall reading that .tel is only available for tm holders for now, until April next year or so.
Anyone has more info on this?

Netsol:

When will .tel be available? Network Solutions® as a fully accredited registrar for .tel will be offering .tel during the three (3) phases established by the Telnic registry. The phases include a sunrise period for trademark holders only opening December 3, 2008, a Landrush period for anyone that wishes to purchase at a premium price opening February 3, 2009, and General Availability which opens to the general public on March 24, 2009.
