Actually .info is doing quite well in some parts of the world, especially Germany and other areas of Europe. It is closing in on one 1 million registrations. Coupled with a root word that makes sense a good .info name could turn out to be a good investment. Several have already sold for good money including Star.info for $2500 recently.

I don't understand why some folks are bending over backwards to see new tlds like .info tank.

One thing is for sure though....That is....the consesus on this forum is not going to make or break the newer tlds; there're many many other more important factors at play here.

It's not important but if you DID look you would find they are gone in all extensions except the joke-of-the-day country codes.

Oase.info ("oasis"): 6000 euros
Videos.info: 4000 euros
Beach.info: 2650 euros
basel.info: 2500 euros

Also, http://www.domain-spiegel.de sold:
sexversand.info for 3,500 euros.

By no account are values going down since the launch. While the future is not certain, the info value trend is CLEAR.

my feeling on .info is that it will be popular in Europe where they hate America and want to get a domain version of the euro going.

Personally i think .info is the best extension after .com .net .org
