Hi,

I know it's not a very popular word (Kendar has about 54,000 matches on Google) but it's still a word. It stands for a race of elves in AD&D/Dragonlance books.

There are at least two businesses who have it: one is Kendar Holdings, a big Irish developer of real estate, the other is Kendar, a pool company in Spain.

What do you think this domain is worth? My current offer is in the mid-$XXX.

I kinda like the domain (being an AD&D fan) but I have no immediate plans for a company with that name.

Let me know what you think.

Nice name. The price seems right unless you really like the name and want to develope it. You could try asking for a higher bid.

Thanks Amiah. Anyone else has an "appraisal" in mind?

$xxx equals leaving money on the table, since kendar.com, in my view, is at least a low $x,xxx domain based on my quick research of it.

However, there are some caveats ... in particular, touting specific companies using that particular name may potentially increase your exposure to litigation ... instead focus on the generic aspects of the word "kendar" (ie. it's also a surname) when marketing it.

I would try to get somewhere between $600 and $1500. Personally I would be happy with $700 to $800.

Think big - and don't use the domain for anything related to the other companies using it. Seems like this word has many meanings and uses, so keep it until you get an offer you can't refuse. These kind of domains don't come along often, and you have every right to keep it. mid xxx is way too low, I wouldn't even give anyone a price you want, if someone else wants it bad enough they will keep upping their offers, and you can decide when it's enough.

Thanks guys. I appreciate all three comments above - seem to center around the same thing. I feel the same way.
