Can someone tell me where i can register or search for all the different domain name extensions like .kids, .home, .coop etc. etc.

It is unofficial registrar. And those domains work with only few US internet providers (and i don't know any non-US provider that supports those domains) so almost noone would be able to access your domain.

..and they charge a lot for those domains that do not work.

..i'm a little bit wrong - Tiscali and Tutopia do support those domains. So few users from Italy and from Latin America can access those domains.

I believe it has to do with having certain, necessary "plug-ins" for your browser to recognize the extensions ... so that the domains could then resolve. I, too, would recommend NOT registering these "new" extensions! Sorry. But the link provided is correct.
