I had a domain similar to keywordtokeywordtwo.com , it was parked at namedrive , on monday I got a nice offer.
Since I did not cared much about the domain and it was making 1-2 usd /month , I accepted the offer. And nearly finished the sale process.
Just at the end of the process the buyer changed his replying mail and it was
keyword2keywordtwo.com :).

conclusion
- If you get an offer research the name of the person that made the offer and see if they are related to a site or company that may effect your asking price. (In my case the owner of the firm contacted to me).
-If you have such domains check the possibilities like this and try to contact them for a good sale.

conclusion 2 (conclusionto :)
- I could have taken x times the sale amount but I am still happy I made a good sale and had some more experience.

Don't kick yourself. As a seller, your price should be the same regardless of who is the buyer, in my opinion. You also can't assume that your buyer would have paid a lot more for the name, simply because he owned a similar name.

I never base my sales or acquisitions on traffic and revenue alone.
Surprisingly, Sedo's appraisal system seems to be doing just that, on top of relying on historical sales. End result: they offer appraisals that take little consideration of the intrinsic value of brandable domains. Conclusion: negotiate your sale based on experience and gut feeling. Do your research. Ask, and you shall receive.

In my opinion who the buyer is very very important if you are selling a domain. If a big company is wanting your mumbajumbagumba.com then you should be alarmed, they are possibly making a new product and prepared everything and will be willing to pay you a little bit more bucks.

Back to my case if your are owning wordtoanotherword.com and if you are contacted by the owner of word2anotherword.com you can expect a better price.

Zangief, since you're from Turkey you might be familiar with the fine art of "haggling" at a bazaar :D Apply the same principle in domaining and you should be fine.

If you're getting a KWtoKW.com, you should always get the KW2KW.com as well... and the .nets and .orgs
Tie up the market, it doesn't cost all that much extra

But dude... $1-$2 a month?
Get some CPA/PPS stuff on there instead of just parking it.
Even if you're only making one or two conversions a year, you'll probably still be doing better than on something that's just parked.

Seriously, if you wanna have a chat about it, feel free to PM me sometime
