It's a unpolished gem!

I am watching kope dot com on TDNAM.

It will be closing in a little under 2 hours.

It is currently at $6,875 with only 14 bids.

The reason I point out the number of bids is those were good, serious bids pushing this up. If there were 88 bids already I would tend to think that many were onlookers and wanted to see how high it goes.

Leta dot com I would estimate reseller in the $5-10K range.

End user is never predictable.

You need to build a mini site and really market this domain.

Is it as strong as Kope? Not really. I see Kope more or less a single syllable word and LetA as two words. Single syllable is not entirely out of the question but is not as strong as Kope.

If I had it, I would not consider anything less than $5K as a serious offer. Any thing less would be almost certainly a domainer's low ball offer.

3-5 Reseller
I think you are going to have to do better than that.

Are you saying IF you owned this domain name that 3-5 is YOUR asking price to a reseller?

Or is this how much you are offering to purchase AS a reseller?

3-5K for me is a Value Price for a reseller .

For enduser price : 5-12K

Doc, you are the running commentator in this thread? ;)

I am shocked everyone is willing to pay 5k here for that domain. I guess it's easy making appraisals when you don't have to back it up with money.

If I appraise this name to $5k, I'm not saying that I would pay that myself.. I'm just saying it shouldn't be too hard getting $5k for it. I wouldn't sell for less.

the issue I have is now there appears to be two reseller prices -

willing to pay as a domainer to domainer
willing to sell as a domainer to domainer

My point is some members are into lowballing appraisals hoping to get a deal. That's fine. Then they should make an offer.

At the same time, I do not think they are doing appraisals justice by lowballing. No, I am not in the market to purchase this (I would have put this money into Kope.com which went for more).

There is a huge gap between what a reseller offer would be and what a reseller selling price would be.

Frankly, I really doubt the sincerity of many appraisals given because someone is lowballing even in the appraisal section.

This is also why I never post names for appraisal. I don't need to know what a domain is worth. It is worth what I gave for it and it's value is what someone is willing to give me.

If I appraise this name to $5k, I'm not saying that I would pay that myself.. I'm just saying it shouldn't be too hard getting $5k for it. I wouldn't sell for less.
Bingo. As a seller, domainer to domainer, this would be a fair appraisal for a starting price...if I owned it

Yes

Again, my point. Willing to pay $3K as a reseller. That is 40% less than an expecting starting price.

That is why I wanted to clarify.

That's true Doc. I try to appraise names as what i would be willing to pay for the domain. It's not easy to predict the market value, as it can surprise you. Some days this name may go for 10k but it may also go for 1.5k other days. I can judge what i would be willing to pay for it today. As i said above, 2-3k would be my appraisal based on the market conditions.

The appraisals that are for 5k and higher...i find to be appraisals that are trying to predict market behaviour. Again, these are not appraisals that are incorrect.

Stian, i do agree that although you may give an appraisal it may not be something you are willing to spend..but generally reseller prices...there is at least a few people who would be willing to spend that amount.

This is why my appraisal was in the 2-3k area. I don't feel that in this market there would be much interest in a price higher than that. Considering i have seen CVCV's being offered to me in PM for that range that i think they were better quality.
