Great name! Most likely it will go up a lot the last few minutes. Good luck!

Ouch. $13613.

The high bid was displayed as "US $11,611" until the end of the auction (I reloaded the auction page every minute for the last 30 minutes). There is definitely a glitch in Sedo's system. According to the bidding history the the winning bid of US $13,613 was placed at 7:49pm CET (the auction ended at 8:11pm CET) but only $11,611 was shown as the highest bid. I bet there was more than one bidder attempting to snipe at the end of the auction and it definitely should have been extended since there were bids within the last 10 minutes. If snipers see the high bid as "US $11,611" and attempt to bid an increment or two higher ($12,111, $12,611, or $12,612 for example) with a minute or so remaining then the bid would not have been processed and the auction wouldn't be extended (Because the high bid is actually $13,613). I was expecting at least 20k for the domain and I just received a 13k offer via PM. I'm going to have to talk with Sedo today and sort this mess out. There might be other domains that were affected as well.

Perhaps you should complete the Sale.. SEDO are holding my $13k until you transfer the domain.

Rest assured that unless this gets resolved I will take any and all action necessary.

Either Cancel the transaction of Complete the sale!!!!!

Ouch Indeed... really does piss me off when people dont complete sale.. whats more if there was an issue then why the hell doesnt SEDO return the funds.. instead they are earning some nice interest while I am out 13 Grand.

SEDO are saying that Mike is not responding.. So I would be interested to know if this is the case.

Both you and Mike are long-standing members of DNForum so I wonder if a phone conversation would help resolve this? I don't have high praises for EVERY Sedo deal but it seems that it's all a matter of getting 2 people agree on something.

I have experienced that it takes a minute or 2 to update highest bids and eventual extensions if you refresh the auction from Sedo's main page. If you are logged in and have clicked the domain's auction page, it should be updated normally. I had exactly the same issue with my domain, Dibe.com, which was also sold for way less than I was hoping for. I still had to go through with the transaction, as incidents like these are the reason why some people don't start no/low reserve auctions. It's a small risk to take, sometimes you get a lot more than you expected, sometimes you don't. In the end, it's better to get a few bucks less than getting a bad rep imo.

To be honest I care not if the domain sale goes through now.. I just want this matter resolved.

Sedo are pissing me off and are not responding. They are now trying to pass the buck as to who the transfer agent is.. its all Smoke and Mirrors with them.

If Mike wanted more then yes he should of set a higher reserve price. I can only look at this from my point of view. I made a Bid, I won that Bid.

If SEDO are unwilling to conclude this transaction either way then something has to be done about it.

I know that I am not at fault and it is down to the Seller and SEDO.. no one is out of pocket at the moment except me and I paid instantly so I have been out 13k since the auction ended back at the beginning of December.

If I cant get a resolve then I hate to do it but I will need to call in the brief and then they can fight it out. All in all this is gonna be a PR nightmare for someone.

If this seller is willing to go ahead then I do have a Fabulous account for a straight push. If not then SEDO has to be told and then its up to them to decide if accounts get suspended or if they take responsibility for a Botched Auction.

Either Way it has gone on for long enough, Today is D-Day.

UPDATE: SEDO have told me that they will not be completing the sale and have said accounting will refund the money.

So there you have it. We will wait and see if they return it.

Just as an aide memoire. I vow never to buy another domain from SEDO.

I have resolved this issue with NameStrands/Sedo privately. I will never sell another domain using the Sedo auction system. Sedo has lost my business permanently.
