since it is a dropped domain you can't call it 8 years old. the domain's value is on it's name and traffic at the moment, it's not a 8 years old domain. it is a domain with 8 years history at archive.org. hope you can understand the difference. that's what i was saying.
have a good day

look at the archive results that there was a site or not.

all age tools says that domain is 7 and a X months old.

domain dropped or not is an another topic.a dropped domain can be 20years old.

how can your dropped domain with no archive record redhost.net can be 8 Years Old
and my domain libforum.com can not be.

lets look your topic : http://www.dnforum.com/showthread.php?t=239643
8 Years Old Redhost.Net

http://whois.domaintools.com/redhost.net
says that :
Registrar History: 1 registrar with 1 drop.

http://www.webconfs.com/domain-stats.php says that :

Age 4 years 0 months

tell me how this is 8 years and mine is not ?

for me both domains are 7-8 years old.
but the problem is if it is your domain it is 8 years old, if not yours it is 8 days old.

it is the funnies thing i have heard from a n00b so far. you made my day man haha sorry its just funny that you can't check a domain's age, aiiight?
as can you see from the whois results my domain is "Created on: 03-Nov-99" can you see?
spell the 99? nine-nine, or ninety nine. its 1999 (sorry i need to explain a bit so you can understand)
and now let's check yours!
http://whois.domaintools.com/libforum.com - Created: 2007-07-27 (two-zero-zero-seven, AKA this year)
aha! 2 weeks ago. so you were like "woooooo i reg it and sell it for a high price and say it is 8 years old" aiight?
check twice post once before you say something and post it if you are really sure about something!
if you need a compare between redhost and your domain
03-Nov-99 redhost
27-Jul-07 libforum
i hope you can understand now the difference.
you can't cheat people here. there are no n00bs(except one.. u know who?) on this forum like others

Phantom is right.

If a domain drops, then the clock starts over on a domain. A domain can be registered for 20 years, then drops, and then the next day it would be considered 1 day old.

I'm sorry, but your wrong. I don't think your account needs terminated, but I think you just need to read about domain names a bit more.

You aren't a liar or a cheater. Just a simple misunderstanding. Don't take it so personal, we all make mistakes.

There are 2 things.

The age of a domain
History of the domain

A domain can have history for a long time. Then it's dropped. If it is dropped then the "age" of the domain starts over. The history of the domain never gets wiped. You are looking at domain history. Not domain age. It is a common mistake. Don't take it badly.

You're new and you're learning. Mistakes are ok. Just don't go overboard and request account cancellations. You will never make any friends like that.

Did he dub you? What he tries to say is the domain has some history even though it is newly registered.

Also Go get learn some grammar. It is called "liar".

What he only tries is to buy and sell domains. If you do not believe what he says, his domains' traffic numbers etc just ignore him and don't trade with him.
