I think if you're trying to bring in or convince others to invest in domains, you should also include some of the "pitfall" stories as well.

Too many get "caught-up" in the glamour and quick profits, without knowing the full circle.

I've found that many mainstream people still associate the domain business with cybersquatters who would register trademark domains and then try to sell them to the trademark holder.

They know nothing about things like generic domains, parking and PPC but understand them quickly when explained.

These articles from credible sources do a great job in converting the "cybersquatters" image into that of "online real estate investors" which is a fantastic and catchy analogy that everyone understands.

I'd say the major pitfalls and risks to avoid are trademark domains, buying domains at inflated prices, and buying traffic domains that quickly "lose" their traffic. Are there any articles about those subjects that do not bash domainers in general? Here are a few recent articles I found about "cybersquatters":
