That's some genious way of thinking.

As a valid city domain, it's worth quite a lot to businesses in the area.

Nope, didn't get it for free. I got it during the original landrush.

Come on fussy :-D I'm in Florida and I know Marina del Rey - can you imagine what the locals would pay for the .com ?

I think the .info is undervalued; WinterPark.info sold for 180 euro on Sedo; I would have paid double as much.

Quit leading this guy on everyone know's europe is the real buyer's for the infoexcept the free ones the ext of .us and .com are prime for the us sedo's sale is about 240 for a prime market where info is number two. How is this guy going to sell.
this domain name for anything more than 25-40 bucks. I bought ranchocucamonga.info
for forty bucks and it's a prime business and residential area. With a heck of a lot of people to sell to. I live in calif. Your a great person radistar and I don't discount what you say. I just feel different about the appraisal then you.

Of course, we all have different opinions and methods of evaluating names. I think that city names in every major extension are worth buying; I've even seen some cityname.eu.com domains getting registered; they are getting desperate.

i happened 2 have lived in marina del rey for years, it is geographically very small (more like a big yachting marina with a few surrounding streets,) but affluent area of l.a. there's more money in one of the marina's yacht docks then in half of rancho cucamonga. now, while i have no idea what info version in this case might be worth to someone else, i know for sure that u can't buy .com version for 5000 bucks, let alone for 500, even if only because it was originally registered by a big time city domain name speculator (and a horrible web designer) in mid-1995 when most of us had no idea what internet domains were. besides that guy does not sell his domains, so even if the city has been after him he might have cared less. and so what if chamber of commerce doesn't own a com?? most of them don't anyway, because like all governmental bureaucratic entities they are on limited budgets, in addition 2 being clueless.

finally, marina del rey also happens to be the choice location of 'icann' headquarters, so how's that for internet presence?

Then you'll appreciate that I also own PlayaDelRey.info, the neighboring community.

unfortunately, what i don't appreciate is the extension. this hot air 'business' of ours is so fragile and susceptible to even tiniest details, that difference in one letter can virtually mean a difference between an early retirenment or a worthless piece of garbage.
