Welcome to the neighborhood. I have Masts.org if anyone wants to pair them up.

It makes a great short acronym for anything dealing with sailing, ships, or shipwrecks. could be a nice name for a forum or sailing club. Makes nice and short email addresses for sailors as well. I may be biased, but I think it's a very nice one word domain. Nice pickup.

Just for reference, I'm asking $300 retail and would probably accept somewhere around half of that. The .net is probably worth more. I was a little surprised to see the info/biz/us still available.

The sailors I know (quite a few - recreational and military) aren't the sort who hang out in online forums. The term "masts" isn't exactly cool in the sense that it would make a good name for a forum; it doesn't look like anyone's found a use for the .com (it doesn't even resolve); and the .org points at another speculator's dn sale site where it's listed for $300 (too much IMHO).

People buying masts for their boats do so via the boatyard, not online.

A google search shows that the term is used to refer to cellular towers... perhaps you could have a site on cell-related health issues.

The only redeeming quality I see to it is that it's one word, and for that I think it may be worth a couple times reg fee, but still very low $xx.

As you stated, there are multiple uses for this domain, and it is a one word name inlcuding towers. Ship masts are a very memorable part of particularly old ships and schooners, and there is a lot of art dedicated to the subject. No people don't "buy" ship masts online, but they probably research them. It can also be used for ship models, art, books and other things that are readily sold on the web, as well as a nice magazine name.

No problem. No offense taken. It is your humble opinion. This is a forum and agreement isn't required.

It is probably rare that anyone here get's their full asking prices. However, that's where negotiation starts. start at $300, probably get offers at $100. Start at $100, you'll get offers of $30. You can always accept less, but can rarely get more than your starting price. I guess pricing strategy is a little off-topic so I'll stop here.
