Meaning of "free" in domain names

Hi all

Is there a practice in choosing domain name to equate "3" with "free" (eg "3service.com" = "threeservice.com"); if so, how prevalent is this? Do people generally accept such notion, rather like "4" equating "for"?

Any pointers would be most welcome.

Where did you hear of that 3=free model from, sas? I haven't heard about these kind of sites in my 7 years of surfin. Could you show an existing example?

I guess ''3" is pronounced as "free" if you've lost your front teeth, so may be good for senior citizen sites.
