Is a misspelled domain worth anything?

for example:

markett.com (market)
adertise.com (advertise)

Thanks!

It depends on the name. Resale value on misspellings is limited. However, if the name gets traffic, then the traffic can be valuable. I have a typo of a very large national store. It gets about 200 hits per day. Although the resale value is limited, I di make a decent amount from the traffic.

I had someone offer the company where I work a .com domain which was a misspelling of our company's name. He concocted a site and a company name and what must have been a fake last name for himself, all based around the misspelled domain. Each time he wrote to us his offering price kept coming down, but was still in the tens of thousands. We said thanks, but no thanks....

Agreed that misspellings could be worthwhile traffic-wise, though. goofle.com or gooble.com might be good ones (if they were available, which they're not).

might be worth setting them both up an seeing if they get any traffic

I have a misspelling of a very generic industry word - in fact more people search for the word on Google misspelled the way I have it - and its dailytype-in traffic is very good.

But you're definitely playing with fire if you reg a misspelling of a well-known TM name.

What happen when a company sue you for registering their mis-spelled domain?

Any recent case on this?

Does returning the domain solve the issue?

Are we liable to pay damages?

Kevin Spacey got KevinSpacy.com last I heard on the common law trademark deal. I'm sure there are others. Don't know about any damage awards in other cases.

Hi!

What do you think about a 2 words domain that have 1 different letter then a well known trademark? The 2 word domain has a different meaning. Is that ok if I own such a name?

Is this considered as a misspeling of the trademark?

How can I see if my domains infringe a trademark?

Just,
