I recently had some appraisals completed by Moniker. My feeling was that they were very conservative, based on a value to barrow against. I know I personally paid more, buying at a solid wholesale level than some of the valuations. I have talked to others who have expressed similar findings, but I am interested to hear what others have to say about their experience. Thank you in advance for your input.

My experience:

Around nine months ago I wanted to compare appraisal services.
So I purchased the more expensive appraisals from different appraisers for the same domain name: HouseRemodeling.com

Appraisal Results:

SEDO ==> 93,000 USD
Moniker ==> 61,000 USD
DNBroker ==> 18,000 USD
Website Appraisals ==> 12,800 USD
GoDaddy ==> 403 USD (a shame!)

So the difference is huge between each apppraisers!

For info it's a domain I purchased around 10K a year ago.
And the last purchase offer I got and that I declined was of 40K.

Hope that help you

I have a similar experience. Moniker is more conservative than sedo when it comes to appraisals, but I think they are more down to earth.

For a name I had appraised moniker gave me $3,250 value and sedo 7,000Euro

Thank you all very much for your commments. So when you guys look at a selling these appraised domains, though perhaps Moniker appraisals are lower than other services, are you finding yourself ready to move them out the door at Moniker value or feeling you need more?
