Hey guys, need an appraisal on my sites name:

CyclePlanet.net

Any value to it alone, without the store?

Thanks

Now normally I don't offer appraisals just because I have only been in the domain game for about 11 months but ...
... as a biker-dude (ride a harley sportster 883R), I would think that the name alone maybe 50-100, with the store 400 or so..now I don't claim to be accurate with appraisals but I do like motor cycles. If I heard the name cycleplanet without the site I maybe a little confused and think that it relates to bikes instead..just my two cents IMO :)

HI Rixride - i have

If you need it you can make me an offer.

DO NOT PLACE OFFERS IN APPRAISAL THREADS.

IMHO it sounds too much like push bikes
These unreg'd names appeal more to me:
MOTORBIKEPLANET.COM
BIKERPLANET.NET
dotbikes.com
dotbike.com
motorbikecenter.com
Guess it is a case of
different strokes for different folks
Best wishes anyway

Not unless you get lucky. There may be a place with the same name that would want it, but with the .net it's tough.

IMHO: Stick with the store you have there, and do something to pretty-up the default OSCommerce look.

Thank you all for the feedback. I appreciate it.

I don't plan on developing it much more, spent 3 months customizing the store and adding over 50 mods. I got the cert and the authorize.net set up.

Everything is set up but I just had my fourth kids (a girl) and I don't have time to do it.

I am going to be selling the site in the next 2 weeks,

I got a ton with it including inventory and

THIS:
index.jpg

A 2002 Yamaha R6. :-D

So basically you get:
1. 2002 Yamaha R6 + Racing Body work ready for the logo painted. (blue book $6000)
2. 50+ Customers
3. Fully customized and functional ecommerce site.
4. Authorized to sell HJC, Joe Rocket, Vortex...and more
5. 800#
6. Ebay Account
7. Paypal Store (almost ready)
8. 1 Year of advertising on a very active sportbike site.
Value ($1188)
and Yadda yadda yadda... I don't want to bore you guys with any more details....

So when I am ready to sell, now I can add an average of the value of the domain name too.
I am not looking to get a ton (probably around 12-15K). but I think it worth over 7k alone with the 2k2 R6 blue book right around that and the free advertising.

Plus its established and gets traffic and its all set up.
Just gotta start selling stuff.

Thanks again guys for the help.

someone should buy Rix's name and site and inventory.

Actually sounds like it could be a cool package. ( btw ... what kinda inventory do you have besides the bike? Jackets ? Helmets? Post more detail so folks here can get all the info)

Then, they could buy

cyclesworld.com

from and team em up :)

Just a thought

Hey no offers yet, the site isn't available yet, and thanks for the bid Great Domain, I will keep it in mind, but a $100 for a 6K bike just doesn't seem like a good business deal to me right now. ;)

I have Champion Equipment Race stands and the like, Also the site has affiliates that sell your stuff for you...I mean there is really a lot to the site that is already set up but again, this wasn't a for sale post, just more of a preview, I am just fishing here to see what reactions I get.

As a Rider and a soon to be racer I don't think I would buy from just any old joe shmoe site on the internet, names that are confusing or common just don't bring in my business y would they do others?, that is why I am offering free advertising on a major local website for a year, like a big sales boost, also I would want to purchase stuff at cost after the sale ya know! ;) - I need my racer discount.

So its not like I am going anywhere after the sale.

The reason I didn't post everything is because I haven't done a complete inventory and tally up the total cost to find out what I really want for the site. I have a guesstimate but I was looking here for more insight on the site name itself.

If you are interested you can send me an email or you can wait till I post in a few weeks. [email protected]

Again thanks for all the feed back.

No, I was appraising the domain only .. Didn't see that part. :-)

ok lol! yeah the post got a little off topic. I think we are good now:

So I got

50-100 = 75
so appraisal's so far are:
$75 -opportunitymagic
$100- Great Domains
$0 - namable
$0 - anyweb

Just to add...

I think it is safe to say that the package would be worth the price of the bike at least.

It might be that you would have a better chance of selling if you found a Motorcyle related board and posted it in the threads there.

This way your audience would be like minded people that could see the value of the package

You might be able to find folks here but use all your options.

my 2¢

Sounds interesting as an ongoing business.

Not sure what the domain by itself is worth, but you might want to try listing it with the internet "business for sale" sites to get the highest dollar value. Especially since your site sounds almost like a turnkey business. OBVIOUSLY the buyer would insert advertising moneys/efforts.

Please notify me when you have finished the inventory and are ready to sell:
