I know there isn't a great value to .ws domain names, but just curious to see what you guys think.

Well frankly I wouldn't give you reg fee. This is a free downloadable with adequate online support from Mozilla. I use Firefox, but I can see no earthly reason for visiting other sites. It would therefore seem to have no commercial angle. If I suddenly started typing in I wouldn't bother with the Mozilla and the WS just kills it stone dead!

Well frankly, I am not interested in what YOU would pay for it. I was just interested in an appraisal, either end user or reseller. But, thanks for the reply anyway. You have a valid point. BTW-Yesterday it made $17.00 from google adsense firefox referral, but I can see how it's not worth anything.

Well, you didn't mention that it had been developed as a website!

To get that level of revenue it would need at least 1,000 landings a day.

I do not see any evidence of Back Link Statistics, so we are left to assume that the traffic is all type-in.

Left with more questions than answers! Opinion on value unchanged I am afraid.

You are absolutely correct, I did not mention that it was a website, I just mentioned the domain name. MY BAD!

However, in order to make that level of revenue, all it needs is 17 visitors, I had 60. Google pays $1.00 per install of firefox with google toolbar.

Thanks for your opinion.

Well that explains a little more. Perhaps there is a niche market there.

Wonder how lucrative it will be, however, when IE 7.0 hits the street?

I'm think it will be ok because firefox is a good browser and the deal they have with google gives insentive for webmasters to promote it. IE, in my opinion, will not compare to firefox, but I could be wrong.

I agree that Firefox is the best available browser at the moment, but I don't see it competing with IE 7.0, which will automatically update into XP. Even if we stay loyal to Firefox, the problem is there will be no real reason to convert to Firefox. Obviously, Google supports Firefox because they will ally with anything that is not Microsoft or Yahoo!

Anyway, best of luck and nice to see some original thinking!

If its making money keep it nice to see someone else thinking of other ways to generate revenue. I am sure IE 7 will take away from firefox but there are still those who will never go back to IE at all. Just curious is Mozilla Firefox a Trademark? That is where I would be concerned otherwise nice way to make a few bucks.

I don't think mozilla firefox is trademarked, but not sure. If it were, it would be contradictory to the software being open source and available to anyone.

lol...

Yes the software is open source.

The name however is not.

And you have admitted in a public forum that they have paid you money for you to use their name.
