onsale:

Your really making this worth a lot more than my original estimate of $25

I think I can help you?
Check it out:

In my professional opinion.
You have some serious issues.

Please send me your billing address and we'll work out a timely structure for your counseling.

If you can't afford it. I'll do it pro-bono.

Just provide me with your shipping address.

As an act of good faith. I'll send you a box filled with used condoms, and hypodermic needles. And if you act now! (give or take a few threads) I'll throw in some anthrax! (it was a package deal that i bought off of ebay)

I was just trying to keep it off the streets. But I think in your case it would fit well.

If your afraid to give me your address that's ok too.
That is one of the symptoms of the disease.
As a professional I understand.

Never fear though. Send me an email. Or maybe I can get your IP.
I have an e-version of the ebay package too!

PS.
I'm going to go hang with my lady now. Maybe you should go back in your closet and spank you little monkey. Don't let your mother catch you again though.

PPS.
As your doctor I should warn you that my hours are between 9mil. and 50cal.

Neither of you guys are funny.

Shipping anthrax through the mail to another person is not a joke...

Stop the sh*t.

"So, not only are you too stupid to know how to spell, you're also too stupid to use the spell checker properly. Thanks for clearing that up, you idiot."

I've just recently heard that newbie member "Onsale" has been booted from the Forum ... after her behavior last evening! That is GREAT news, and I want to thank the moderators here for being so proactive. I was verbally assaulted (and I'm being nice in saying that) in another thread. Anyway, thanks DNForum! :)
Good Luck.

Mudfence, I feel your pain. There have been more than one occasion where I thought I had struck gold only to find out my spelling sucks.

I love how some people are bitterly hard on other people when they make honest mistakes. How about a little sympthy!?!

Having said that. I'm sure there are people out there on Ebay who would jump at the name (as it does sound familiar) so if you dump the name you might make off with a small amount of money for your time and effort.

I spent $5 registering a domain that google finds 12,800 hits for.

Can't spell AND can't use Google.

Google.com shows only 15 hits total for that domain.

The term "my lacky" only gets about 50 hits.

If you get sloppy and search without quotes (and get all pages that happen to have "lacky" and "my" anywhere on the page or in links referencing the page, which is useless as a proper research technique for how popular the terms are *together*) you only get 4,730 hits.

I can't for the life of me figure out how you can possibly come up with 12,800 hits using those two words, even if you spell "lackey" correctly.

Beyond that, mylackey.com's great claim to fame was that they'd do anything for money, with the main example used in news reports at the time being losers who picked up doggie poo from people's yards for minimum wage and stock options in a company that died a few short months later.

And you *want* to be associated with that?

To get back to the original theme of the thread. I don't think the spelling is relevant - Ebay is probably not in the dictionary either.

It looks as if the site was mylackey.com and had an alias of mylacky.com (and maybe even the hyphenated versions :D). So for the purpose of the OP - nostalgia, it is correct. Maybe mylackey.com would be better, but maybe that's not available.

Please forget the spelling and the insults - it's history we should be discussing here.

This is an appraisal thread. As such, spelling is important, and history as far as it may add to or subtract from the potential earnings.

The insults can de dropped, but pointing out that someone's claims of a high number of Google hits is totally wrong isn't an insult, it's just pointing out that the information is wrong.

Value = $0 by itself, $100 to some disgruntled former lackey who wants the name out of vanity to use it for a blog or something else that won't ever earn money... assuming any former employee can even raise $100, since their stock means nothing and they were paid crap (sometime literally as in example above) during a period when most people were earning good money, comparatively.

Surely it's greatest value (perhaps only value) is in it's history. Spelling, google and overture info. indicates a low value, so it's appraisal has to be done on the history. That is also lower because it was the alias name and not the base name.

Probably the best way to get a reasonable price is to set up a site with the history on it. If you can get some reasonable traffic to it, then sell it for the traffic.

Nice domain to link to from an internet information site. (the-E magazine perhaps).

Hey, under the new anti-terrorism laws, can't mudfence be arrested for the anthrax mailing crack?

Just a warning for people to use their heads before saying stupid comments... It's strange how the moderators let that stuff slide by. Can't have a sig line longer than 4 lines, but can break federal laws and make threats against other members, hmmmm....
