I have read many times on here about shill bidding on Namejet, Does anyone really know at this point , as I just secured a domain but after getting into a 2person battle after it had been bid up

Just seems fishy to me.

The more I read the less I like namejet

Opinions ?

i agree you. I have been into 2 persons bidding so many times for domains which are useless for other people IMO (but have some worth for me)

not agree at all about sedo. I had 3 names at different times in auction at sedo and none received any bid after the initial bid. So all 3 went for just $60 (initial bid)

I dont agree either, I have never had a problem with sedo, and in fact have gotten better deals from them and afternic, but there is something fishy with namejet

I have seen the same bidder bid up auctions over 5 times now on exactly what you said, names that were not a type of name that would be worth anything but maybe to a few people for a product or service.

I am keeping an eye out for these bidders I have seen this from them several times now and I have also checked my previous auctions and when these people are not involved the bidding is more reasonable and the pricing is pretty on the money.

I am adding domains I dont really want but just to keep an eye on them via the bidding. The prices at namejet are a lot higher than most everywhere else on sales. I am sorry, that just cant be coincidence

Sometimes I think the same same...but usually dismiss thinking that...as how does a name like dangerous.com only go for 15k? would not that be a candidate for a shiller to drive up the price?

Out of curiousity, what are the bidder names for the suspected shill bidders? They may actually be bidders. Have you checked the whois after one of these bidders if they actually won the auction?

On snap names...I am fairly certain Halvarez is an employee of snapnames or maybe just has an amazing bidding script which is set less than a second before the name goes...I have been the only bidder and put the bid in seconds before the is to go to auction ...and then to find out Halvarez gets in after my bid....this happens pretty consistently.

Onward,
I am researching these people currently and will let everyone know when I have more info.

On dangerous, it could be the fact there were a lot of people that did not know about it, or it should have had a higher price and there was no need for a bidder of that nature. You probably make more by the other names because there are a lot more of them than the dangerous type names, but again, thats just an opinion.

More bidding on the mediocre or specialty names would bring a lot more money than on just the one word name which should bring its own. I for one dont think dangerous is all that great anyway.

Completely Agree. Single word Generic names like Dangerous.com, does not require this thing from Namejet point of view. Its only required for average names where low no. of bidders are bidding.
