Theless wonders;
Unless you remember the countless commercials starring Phil Rizuto pitching "The Money Store" on TV ALL thru the Eighties, then I guess you might not be able understand where I am coming from... I'm saying historically, numerous very successful businesses used THE preceding their name, PARTICULARLY when the last word in the name is STORE.
I'd also go so far to say that a THE ____ STORE
name is, uh! oh!, dare I say it, better Grammer than a ____ STORE name...
***Hey, all you naysayers that posted above! Where are your ____STORE success stories like I've cited, i.e. 'The Money Store' ? Well, where are they ???
Another thing. Check out these examples of two Americans (Your main mass market, right?) talking...
man1 - Hey man2, Where are you going?
man2 - Liquor Store!
man1 - Why the attitude? Later jerk...
as opposed to this exchange...
man1 - Hey man2 Where are you going?
man2 - The Liquor Store
man1 - Cool...Party on Man2!
See everyone... the evidence is clear... in example one man2 used poor grammer and got off to a very bad start with man1 (your customer).
Ha. Ha. Ha. Wow. I have to admit I am funny (am humorous) sometimes.
Also, BTW, I'd think THE in front would be stronger branding wise, but not TM wise. TM wise your url trumps the THE version.
Further, NameStore.com, imo, is not general enough to cover all the web related services (hosting, developing, etc.) you'd want to offer.
Finally Steve, If you are looking for that special domain that is uniquely capable of enabling your company to take on NSI, Register.com, and the others, I think your company may want to keep looking... Are you/they looking for a domain registrar, broker, web development megasite domain ???
And oh yeah... Don't get me wrong. I think that Namestore.com is a very sharp url indeed ( Solid $2,000 usd value to a serious existing or new registrar reseller) but let me ask you this Steve... How far is namestore.com going to take you before your company's product and service offerings outgrow it ??? Think about it mon...
Just letting you in on what I'm thinking about this domain. Don't forget, you did post for an appraisal, right??? There are a lot of angles to consider when choosing a name and I know you know that Steve. So, Peace and Positive K to you,
Mike
