So I get an email about Namewinner getting me a name today for $8.75 but I see the charged me for another name that I didn't even bid on for another $8.75.

PYSCHOPATH.NET

Why the hell would I want this name. It's mispelled and the.com isn't even taken. There is no record of this in any of my bidding history. Why did they charge me for it? Anyone else had this problem?

Well, it happened to me too a few weeks ago. I have not used for a very long time, so I have no idea what happened. Maybe it was a name I added loooooong time ago. Maybe last year??

Mine was a bit better than yours, but still nothing I would hold my breath for. Sorry to hear that it happened to you as well.

LOL.

How about an auction with starting bid $0.05? :)

Clem,

I know you already know this.

If you notify them within a day of dropping they will credit you plus turn the name back to the registry.

I believe they have 5 days to do it. But, I wouldn't push it.

you can check your "names to be purchased" or high bidder list to see the "old" ones you may be in line to get.

If you add a name in your watch list and if it shows $8.75 not highest bidder, you still get that name.

One goofy thing about Namewinner, and I have emailed them asking them to fix this: You have 2 lists. The Watch List and the High Bids (Purchase) List. If you enter a name incorrectly, and then delete it on the Watch List, it still remains indefinitely on the High Bids list. They never auto-delete from the High Bid list, even after 6 or 12 months. This may not explain the current situation, but you have to be careful with NW. The easy solution: They should consolidate and have a single list for each person.

hi O,

I have the same problem.

They should set it so your bid is deleted after 9 months.

clemzonguy, they might just be trying to send you a secret message...PYSCHOPATH....j/k

Well I'll go psychopath on their arse if I don't get my $8.75 back. They can still delete the name if they do it right away....however their tech support is slow as the dickens but better than it was a few months back.

You bid on that name was placed at 01:23-17-July-2003. Below is shows the record in your bid history.

I made no such bid. I didn't even put in any bids other than one other name all week long.
