How successful do you think NameWinner is based on a percentage?

I felt success rate is around 10%, if you use with other 3. (eNom, SN, Pool)
But usually breaker coming and price will be higher after they got, if you were top bidder before drops.

Oct 2004 to Dec 2004, I join drop game that 3 month.
eNom was highest success rate and I feel fair auction system.
Pool is Blackbox auction, so not very happy for many bidders.
NW auction, not so bad, but not so smart system.
SN, auction system is OK. But if you find "vaxis" in bidders list, you are unlucky.

You should back-order all 4 services before drops, when you have target domains.

I rarely play the drop game but when I do, I mostly use enom and namewinner. Namewinner caught me a few nice nice domains so I'm real happy about that. But as for competition-wise, Enom and Pool are definitely the leads.

after many failures, I shave stopped using NW.
I very very rarely use pool now because of the shadowy bidding process.
the drop game has become to expesnive with people paying end user prices...
How they think they will get their money back is a mystery to me.

Simple: Pool has become the end-user tool. Corporations that want a domain, go directly to Pool.

The prices are not even close to end-user prices.
Agree, they have gone up, but You can still make good money with it.

I'll have to respectfully disagree.
I dont know how much you follow the pool droping prices recently (or NW), but there are names going for what at least I believe to be end user prices, and in many cases, more than end user (from a reseller point of view) because of sentimental bidding.

I have reduced my use of Pool and Namewinner by 98%.

One year ago, it was the exact opposite.

As for Pool going up to end user prices.
You are correct. Because, one or two people are bidding blindly.
All you need is one of the bidders to be emotionally involved.

However, it might be better for Pool. Instead of $ 100 profit on
on a 100 domains. They might be making $ 300 profit on 35 names.

If they were losing revenue over the past 9 months compared to the
previous year (which I thought they would have been), they should
have reverted back to the old bidding system.

But, they haven't. So, I assume they are still making money.

It use to be that Namewinner would catch approx. 25-35% of the names
I was chasing. Then, they went to their new bidding process.
There, again, you are bidding blindly. So, I don't even look anymore.

Eventhough, Enom's system is also blind bidding. For some reason, I trust
them. Plus, they do, at least, tell you how many other people are involved
in the bidding process.

Nothing is consistent/constant in the domain business. So, next year
we will be complaining about a different service.

(This time last year, we were all saying that Snapnames was dead !!!)

And, one to two years ago, we were complaining about Ultimate.
Next year, we will be complaining about Adam. :-D

i use enom exclusively now.. i get about 10-15 names a day from them all pretty good names as well no junk things with - in them or .net's orgs or whatever.. quality names.

Based on my experiences they get about 60-75% of the names that i have been putting through their system and the bids dont tend to get too out of hand.

Namewinner.. i used them back in the day.. but havent touched them for a long time so i cant really comment. I used to use snapnames a lot but i gaveup on them when one day my friend with his tool he wrote himself beat out a name i had snapped.. doesnt give me much faith in their system

I find a name that is very nice ... I wait for it to get deleted ... then I just manually register it. I have found zero domains this way, but have saved some money in the long run.

j/k

I'm trying out this so called go daddy "exclusive" drop ... but havent had any luck yet.
