Houston we have problem. We need to make the appraisal section a little more "serious". $0 appraisals are fine if you know what you are talking about, but don't bother if you don't know what it is you are appraising. I think we are all tiring of these $0 appraisals. Really. Obviously some are but spend the time to explain why. Otherwise we don't have a "serious" domain community (IMHO--as you always say!)

When an obscure domain is posted WITH NO DESCRIPTION whatsoever, it is likey going to get a low appraisal, in general. If the owner doesn't even know what it stands for, or can't explain it clearly ... it's not the appraiser's fault.
Listen, we PAY MONEY to appraise here. We're each entitled to our own "IMHO".
C'mon, guys ... put up some stats and a clear description next time to avoid these silly situations. Make it easier on us paying members. LOL.

If somone has to explain something to you, then I wouldn't be comfortable in your appraisal to begin with. It is just that simple. If you don't know what the word/industry is. Don't bother wasting space in an appraisal thread. Refrain, from posting.

Also what is with the "We PAY MONEY" to appraise here? Ah, what does that have to do with anything?? If the "appraisals" here are seen as a joke, then your money really isn't no concern of ours. It is OUR community not yours CH... You are a "cog" in the wheel. Make it better by particpating effectively, not impeding.

I'm not as educated, so I gave it my best appraisal based on never having heard the term before, and absent a clear definition by the owner.. Neither one is 100% correct, of course ... but we both paid, so we're entitled. Everything's

nanotechnology is one of the most promising industries right now, and I would not offer $1k for something I know nothing about (unlike you perhaps? )

Gee, thanks Izipod. Thank you for allowing me the pleasure to visit here every once in a while. If you don't think that I've always stood for the entire paying membership, then I suggest you read back a few thousand or so of my posts.
I'm sorry if I don't always agree with you, I'm not a "yesman", or I didn't take a half-day to research the owner's term here before appraising. As I mentioned, had a moment been taken to leave a brief description here, this all might have been avoided.
