I honestly can't think of anything you could do with that domain, in terms of development. The word isn't really used and has negative connotation. Will be interesting to see if anyone has any ideas.

Actually I am black it doesn't really a negative connotation if you develop in some support organization but it how you use it. Negro is insulting word the other word is meaning ignorant .but how it develop will reflect the value .if you curious about any domain value put it on sedo and let the market determine. I will say with this word must people will be scared to get it because of fear they can get judger after accquiring this domain . So my personal value of this domain as Reseller I wouldnt pay more 1200 and as enduser hopefully sell it to african american society since people would look at funny even though the word isnt bad they may pay mid x,xxx

United Negro College fund

In 2005, the UNCF supported approximately 65,000 students at over 900 colleges and universities with approximately $113 million in grants and scholarships

The whole potential of this has not really been explored.

The entire name and extension go perfect together.

Imagine having a site comprised of Negro.org(anizations) for all facets of life.

Plus, I would love to see a superb negro history site dealing with African heritage, enslavement, transport to the US along with the hardships of arriving here alive, then the struggles beyond.

Strong potential. I love it.

I'm all for that :) Especially with the end result being the first black president of the US, kind of a neat end to the journey thus far!

If you go down the history route, you may want to consider the history of the "negro" prior to his slavery in building this country along with the resources of his homeland but to show and explore that the existence of the "negro" does not begin with slavery.

Perhaps you can run a campaign on twitter for his 40 acres and mule. Do you think people would object?

I think of it as kind of an old fashioned term, you rarely hear it in everyday conversation anymore. The UNCF is a good example of an exception though. I would go the Spanish route.

could make a historical website

at www.the.negro.org

tracing the history of the negro people, from slavery to obama

nothing negative about the term, it's all about usage.

imo...
i agree ... it mean" black" it would have been cool if you had negros.org but negro will do

So, your potential buyers are one club, or a Spanish emo community?... It would be nice developed as some kind of a resource/info site like stated above. I would sell it for as low as $1,000. And this word is fine compared to the alternative.

I didnt know "negro" had negative connotations. You might be thinking of the version rappers use all the time.

I think JFK used the phrase "Negro president by 2000" or something similar.
