That's all speculation and hype to attract attention to the author.
I don't think it will happen.

Plus, not for nothing, those posts are on the verge of advertising.

Speculation and hype? Sure, there's speculation. But it's based on fact--the limit Verisign can charge for .nets IS lifted in 2007. Verisign has always charged the maximum allowed by ICANN. The only thing I see keeping Verisign from not raising .net prices in 2007 is if they are trying to negotiate extensions to other contracts.

It looks like the registrars got to give input to the pricing. ICANN release a report about a week ago about alternatives to lifting the .net price cap.
