The company has issued a press release saying:

“Network Solutions has long called for a fee-based solution to eliminate the related abuses of domain name “tasting” and “front running.”

They also call tasting and kiting "abusive as they allow tasters to hold, at no cost, millions of domains that are no longer available to the public for registration."

Wait, is this the same company that will "hold" (and park on their own account) a domain if someone searches for it (thus preventing it from being registered elsewhere)?

draggar: Yes, thats right. As you can tell by my blog post, I'm astounded at the hypocrisy. It's nothing short of amazing.

What a bunch of wankers. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in one of their board room meetings.

It would probably be like the "Box Network's" board room in "Bender's Big Score".:smilewinkgrin::lol:

So, it's not OK for people who do it with millions of domains but OK for them to do it with the queries made on their site?

Interesting that it only took them two hours to perdonally respond on your site.
