How can this be supported going forward. IPS have now withdrawn Invision board from the free market, with the launch of version 2 you must pay on a per use basis and support/updates has ceased for 1.3.x

So that means that all site that are online today that offer IPB for free must close the sites ????

No versions up to 1.3.x are still free although IPS are not offering them for download any more, but it does mean that they wont offer any security updates, etc...

So it wont be long before modding and others aspects of the free IPB era draw to a close.

That's why it's best to use phpbb forum if you want to have multiple forums, that software is still free.

I bet you could find downloads of ipb boards easy on the net though so no need to get it from them

No your right, my point was not that you cant use it, simply that security holes and the like wont be fixed and that board version will die out soon enough.

Its quite sad really as it is a good board, IPB are becoming very commercial now, but in saying that I do have a version 2 license, only because I beleive when something is good you should support it.
